I am really excited to be a part of the cover reveal for Winell Road a Middle Grade Sci-Fi (and bloody good!) By Kate Foster. I have known Kate for a while now, we met each other on Twitter and hit it off straight away through our love of funny videos and gifs. She has been such a great help to me. Actually, she’s been a blessing! Not only did she help me with my cover reveal, she also beta read AND edited Fractured Immortal! She is one of the most amazing human beings on this planet. TRUE STORY. I am thrilled to bits to be able to feature Kate on my blog today and I can’t wait until Winell Road is released because my two daughters want to read it – as do I!
So, without further ado – the cover for Winell Road!
Twelve-year old Jack Mills lives at 5 Winell Road and probably has the world’s weirdest neighbours. Like freakishly weird. And to top it off, he lives with Mum: nosy, interfering, a hideous cook, and Dad: unsuccessful inventor of the Camera Belt and Self-Closing Window. All in all, it’s a boring, embarrassing, dead-end place to live.
So when Jack arrives home from school one day, a close shave with a UFO is the last thing he expects. But the fact it doesn’t abduct him, and that no one else, not even Mum, sees the gigantic flying saucer hovering over the street, adds a whole new layer of strange.
Soon after, an alien encounter threatens Jack’s life and he becomes embroiled in a galaxy-saving mission. With the assistance of his new neighbour, frighteningly tall Roxy Fox, he discovers Winell Road is hiding secrets—secrets Jack might wish he’d never uncovered.
I LOVE this cover and the book itself sounds amazing! Well done Kate Foster – I very much look forward to reading it!
Kate Foster is a picture book and middle grade writer, a beta reader, and an certificated editor and proofreader. Originally from Kent in England, she emigrated with her husband and three sons to the Gold Coast in Australia in 2014. She’s a member of SCBWI, the Society of Authors, Women Writers, Women’s Books writing group and the Gold Coast Writers Association. She donates her time to help other authors during competitions such as those on Freshly Squeezed and Nestpitch as well as being a regular contributor on YATopia. She’d like to go on and say she’s a supermodel, supermum, superwife, incredible cook and all-round perfect human, but that would involve some lying. Her debut Middle Grade novel, Winell Road, will be published later this year through Jet Black Publishing and 20% of all proceeds will be donated to the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation.
See – I told you she’s AWESOME!!
